Dr. Sebastian Hollenberg, LL.M. MM

Physicist, Patentanwalt, Mediator, European Trademark and Design Attorney, Partner

Dr. Hollenberg is a graduate physicist. He studied physics at the Technical University of Dortmund, specialising in high-energy physics. He was awarded his doctorate with a dissertation in the field of neutrino physics at the Technical University of Dortmund. He received a doctoral scholarship from the Best Promotion Programme of the Technical University of Dortmund. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Hollenberg spent several months abroad in the United Kingdom (Brighton) and India (Kolkatta).

Since 2013 Dr. Hollenberg has been working in intellectual property law. He trained as a patent attorney in a law firm in Frankfurt am Main, at the Mannheim District Court and at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and Federal Patent Court in Munich. He was admitted to practice as a patent attorney in 2016. Dr. Hollenberg represents clients before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, the Federal Patent Court and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

Dr. Hollenberg’s professional focus is on patent and trade mark law. In particular, he has technical expertise in the field of general mechanical engineering, automotive, connection, medical and filter technology as well as vibration damping. He accompanies pan-European and international trade mark proceedings with a focus on the fields of management consultancy, the advertising and event industry as well as consumer goods. Furthermore, Dr. Hollenberg advises on the protection of trade secrets.

Dr. Hollenberg completed the Master’s programme in European Intellectual Property Law at the FernUniversität in Hagen. His Master’s thesis dealt with the topic “The difficult exit of Great Britain from the European Union – a critical analysis from the perspective of European Union law”.

In addition to his work as a patent attorney, Dr. Hollenberg is also a mediator. The focus of his activity is in the field of business mediation. Dr. Hollenberg completed his mediation training as part of the Master of Mediation program at the FernUniversität in Hagen. His master thesis dealt with the topic “The patent attorney as (attorney-) mediator? – A critical analysis from the perspective of the reformed patent attorney professional law”.

In addition to the Chamber of Patent Attorneys, Dr. Hollenberg is involved in the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).

Dr. Florian Schröder

Physicist, Patentanwalt, European Trademark and Design Attorney, Partner

Dr. Florian Schröder holds a diploma in Physics (Dipl.-Phys.). He is a Patent Attorney since January 2015 when he was admitted by the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys.

His main fields of practice are patent- and design-related cases, especially in the technical fields heat- and refrigeration technology, household appliances, wind- and solar power plants, transportation means, optics, electronics, communications technology, and mechanical engineering.

Dr. Schröder is licensed to represent clients before the German Patent- and Trademark-Office (GPTO), the Federal Patent Court in Munich (FPC) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante.

Dr. Schröder has been working in the field of Intellectual Property since 2011 when he started his training as a Patent Attorney Candidate. He completed his training in the field of Intellectual Property in a law firm in Munich, as well as at the Higher Regional Court Munich, the German Patent- and Trademark-Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich.

Before that, he studied Physics at the Goethe-University of Frankfurt and prepared his doctoral thesis in the field of crystal physics at the Institute of Geosciences. During his diploma studies he was awarded a fellowship of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. For field trips and experiments he spent time in Sweden, France, Mexico, Russia, and at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the United States of America. Results of his studies have been published in renowned scientific journals.
